1. Who is responsible

2. What data we process and why
Domain names (free check)
When you submit a domain, we process it to run the automated website check, which requests up to five publicly available pages from that site. The result is cached for 24 hours. We do not link a domain to a person unless you also give us your email address. Please only submit domains you are authorised to have checked.
Email address and domain (emailed report)
When you request the report we collect your email address and the domain. We use them to generate the report and email it to you, and to keep a record of the request. A copy of the email goes to our admin mailbox. We do not add you to a marketing list without separate consent. The report prepares a small sample of AI answers by sending fixed example prompts (not your email address and not your domain) to a third-party data provider (DataForSEO), which relays them to AI assistants.
Technical data and bot protection
Our servers record standard access logs (IP address, request path, timestamp, response code) for security and debugging, and we aim to delete them after 30 days. Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes technical data from your browser (such as IP address and browser signals) to tell people from bots, and Cloudflare may process traffic to our API for security.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Our cookie notice is remembered with one entry in your browser's local storage (key: aivl_cookie_consent), which is not sent to our servers. Cloudflare Turnstile may store technical data in your browser to work.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics for aggregate statistics such as page views, referring sites and form events. Plausible sets no cookies and says it does not store personal data or IP addresses. Plausible states that it processes data on servers in the EU.
Enquiries
If you email us, we process your message and address to reply and keep the correspondence for as long as needed.
3. Legal basis
This site is subject to the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU GDPR. Domain names, logs and analytics: our legitimate interest in providing and securing the service. Email addresses: performing your request for the report (and, where required, your consent given when you submit the form). Enquiries: our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps you ask us to take before a contract.
4. Who receives data and where it is processed
The public website is hosted by Infomaniak in Switzerland. The engine API and database run on a Hostinger VPS in Frankfurt, Germany. Reports are sent through Infomaniak's mail service. Cloudflare (Turnstile and security services) and DataForSEO (the AI-answer data provider) may process data outside Switzerland and the EU/EEA, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. We do not sell personal data.
5. Your rights
You may ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent given, and receive your data in a common format, as the applicable law provides. Email [email protected]; we aim to reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, if you are in the EU/EEA, to your local supervisory authority.
6. Retention
We keep email addresses and the related request records for up to 12 months and then delete them, unless you have engaged us for ongoing services or the law requires us to keep them longer. Generated report files are kept for about 14 days. Logs are kept as stated above. You can ask us to delete your data sooner.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
